Australian Sixpence

The Australian Sixpence reflects Australia’s unique flora & Fauna with the Coat of Arms on each genuine Sixpence dial. The coins were initially minted in England; however, Australia began to mint their own from the year of 1916 at branches of the Royal Mint in Sydney and Melbourne. The final sixpence was minted in 1963 in Melbourne.

Every Coinwatch has a story. Sometimes it’s interesting to think when holding a coin in your hand, “Where has this coin been, what has it been exchanged for?” Very few items are exchanged, travelled and used countless times in so many different places and by so many different people, than the humble coin.
