Story

Australian golden homage

Featuring two Australian gold sovereigns, this prestigious presentation pays homage to the golden history of The Perth Mint. Historic, important and eye-catching, The Perth Mint 1921 & 2021 Gold Sovereign Anniversary Two-Coin set is also very exclusive with an extremely limited issue of 50.

Exclusive anniversary duo

Opened amid great fanfare in 1899, with a remit to transform the rich bounty of the Western Australian goldfields into coins of the realm, The Perth Mint struck sovereigns in each year until the Gold Standard was abandoned in 1931. As the oldest mint in the world operating from our original premises, The Perth Mint maintains a grand tradition of striking sovereigns for collectors. Included in superior Extremely Fine quality, the 1921P features the iconic St George and the Dragon design with a King George V obverse. The 2021 proof sovereign is an official Australian legal tender coin distinguished by a ‘95’ privy mark, denoting the 95th birthday of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II.
