Story

End of WWI

This 1919 sovereign was the first struck by The Perth Mint after the conclusion of World War I, making it a highly sought-after acquisition for any collector. Despite the 1919 gold sovereign having a generous mintage of 2.995 million, it is a scarce and highly sought-after coin today. This is in part due to the huge number of Australian-struck sovereigns sent overseas after the war to satisfy the immense debt Australia accumulated during the conflict.
