Stunning coloured snake design
The reverse of the coin depicts a coloured yellow and green snake curled around a tree branch. The Chinese character for 'snake' and the inscription 'Year of the snake' also appear in the design with The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark.
Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of these 2013 year of the snake 1oz silver coloured coins, in special World Money Fair Coin Show packaging, from a maximum mintage of 170,000.
