Sydney ANDA coin show special
The dragon on the coin is pad printed in blue, one of the nine colours featured on the famous nine dragon wall in China. Issued at ANDA Sydney in 2012, the coin is truck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99% pure silver in specimen quality.
Stunning dragon reverse design
The reverse of the coin depicts a blue dragon with a representation of a pearl. The colour blue is deeply significant, representing the healing element of water, prosperity, eternity and peace. The Chinese character for 'dragon' and the inscription YEAR OF THE DRAGON also appear in the design with The Perth mint's traditional 'P' mintmark.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2012 year-date. No more than 5,000 of these ANDA Sydney coin show specials were released.
