Story

Powerful pairing

In traditional Chinese culture, the dragon is revered as a divine creature and potent symbol of power, strength, wealth and good fortune. Of formidable appearance with scales, claws, and horns, the serpentine-shaped beast is benevolent and good.

The phoenix is regarded as an immortal bird whose rare appearance is believed to foreshadow happiness and harmony. According to legend, its flamboyant look features many beautiful feathers.

Coloured design

The coin portrays coloured depictions of a dragon and phoenix circling a flame-fringed pearl, a symbol of wisdom. Other motifs include stylised clouds, omens of peace and luck, and a peony, the flower of wealth and honour.
