Powerful dragon

Revered as a divine mythical creature, the Chinese dragon is associated with power, wealth and good fortune. Traditionally depicted in pursuit of a flaming pearl, a metaphor for wisdom and enlightenment, dragons are frequently illustrated with their mouth open and eyes wide in anticipation of capturing the prized treasure.

Legendary design

This coin is made with an extra-deep blank to accommodate its superbly detailed high relief design. The reverse portrays two dragons encircling a single luminous pearl surrounded by clouds and mist which symbolise the elusive nature of the jewel. Also included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
