The Australian Kookaburra is a sought-after coin series featuring annual designs of our iconic ‘laughing’ bird. In 2023, four coloured privy mark issues will be issued to mark ANDA Money Expo events in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

Coloured privy mark

The Brisbane Money Expo ANDA Special portrays two kookaburras perched on the branches of a shrub displaying the flowers of Australian native waratah. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design includes a coloured privy mark representation of a brolga, a large grey crane famous for its energetic dance performance, which became the official bird emblem of Queensland in 1986.
