The silver gemstone edition is a spectacular offering from the Australian lunar silver coin series II. Featuring a beautiful golden citrine gemstone, this is an extremely exclusive limited edition celebrating the year of the rooster.  Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1 kilo of 99.99% pure silver.

Colour design

The reverse of the coin depicts a rooster, a hen, and three chicks standing amongst bamboo foliage and flowers. The rooster has a golden citrine gemstone set into its eye. The Chinese character for 'rooster' and the inscription 'Year of the Rooster' also appear in the design with The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark.  The Perth Mint will release no more than 500 of these 2017 year of the rooster 1 kilo silver gemstone edition.
