Story

Proof quality pure gold

In 2018, we celebrate the 11th animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar dog include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be loyal, amiable, kind and friendly.

Each coin is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from 99.99% pure gold in proof quality.

Year of the dog design

The reverse depicts a chocolate labrador retriever standing on rocks and featuring a stylised pine tree in the background. The Chinese character for 'dog' and the inscription 'Year of the Dog' also appear in the design with The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark.

Available in multiple sizes

The 2018 gold releases are available as individual 1oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz coins, or in a stunning three-coin set comprising all three issues.
