Silver Jubilee
The Silver Jubilee marked the 25th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6 February 1952. As part of the celebration, the Queen visited Australia in March 1977, during which a Silver Jubilee Parade was held in front of Parliament House in Canberra. Additionally, the Royal Australian Mint circulated a commemorative 50c coin. Designed by Stuart Devlin, the coin’s reverse artistry featured 25 crowns in a ring around a central wattle blossom and the legend ‘SILVER JUBILEE 50 CENTS’.
Uncirculated year set
This 1977 uncirculated year set comprises the special 50 cent coin with examples of Australia’s 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, and 20c decimal pieces from 1977. Each coin features a reverse design by Stuart Devlin and the Arnold Machin effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
