2024 koala design

The coin portrays an adorable koala climbing a gum tree looking out over its natural habitat. As well as the inscription ‘KOALA’, and a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, the reverse includes the coin’s weight, purity and year-date.

H.M. King Charles III effigy

The coin’s obverse portrays the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.

Authentication feature

For additional peace of mind, the coin incorporates an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.

The coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.
