Shipping and delivery
The team at The Perth Mint works hard to ensure your order is delivered to you quickly and securely from the moment you complete your order.
Orders can be dispatched to fixed addresses within Australia or internationally. You can find out more about which countries we ship to in our FAQs. For updates to anything impacting deliveries, please check our Latest notices page.
Restrictions on deliveries to unattended delivery locations
Orders from The Perth Mint can no longer be delivered to unattended delivery locations. For successful delivery, customers will need to have either a residential or commercial address. Unattended delivery locations include: PO boxes (of any type), parcel lockers, locked bags, private bags, common boxes, private posting boxes, combined box/locked bag services, roadside mailboxes.
Flat rate charges
We charge a flat rate for orders that do not include bullion. These are:
- Domestic AUD 10
- International AUD 35
- Free worldwide shipping for orders over AUD 300.

Australian deliveries (under AUD 70,000)
Orders under AUD 70,000 are sent by Team Global Express (TGE) and can be delivered to most Australian residential or business addresses (or redirected to a TGE-serviced alternate delivery premise).
A tracking number will be provided to you by email on the day of dispatch.
Delivery usually takes one to three working days from date of dispatch, but can sometimes take longer.
Please note: Deliveries to business addresses can be accepted by any employee.
Missed deliveries
If your delivery is unsuccessful, the courier will leave a card with instructions on how to arrange collection from an alternate delivery premise. Visit TGE for more information.
Delivery charges
Shipping is charged at AUD 17.50 per kg of packed weight, or part thereof, with a minimum charge of AUD 17.50. Optional insurance is available at 1% (plus GST).

Orders over AUD 70,000 are sent to you by secure carrier and include insurance.
Deliveries can only be made to verified business addresses or collected from the carriers’ depots, subject to prior approval.
Larger orders take longer to dispatch and may sometimes take up to 10 business days until delivery.
Please note: Deliveries to business addresses can be accepted by any employee.

Additional security measures
You, or the person you have nominated to receive the order, will be required to show photo ID (passport or driver’s licence) on delivery or collection.

International deliveries (under AUD 30,000)
International orders under AUD 30,000 are shipped by general carrier and delivered to most overseas addresses.
Delivery usually takes two to five working days from date of dispatch, but can sometimes take longer.
For security purposes, deliveries to some regions are subject to maximum value limits. See our FAQs page for more details.
Optional insurance is available at 1% (plus GST).
Shipping charges do not include overseas customs duties, foreign taxes or any other costs which may be associated with you clearing goods through your local customs.
If your delivery is unsuccessful, the courier will leave a card with instructions on how to arrange collection or re-delivery.

Shipping and collection of storage program holdings
The Perth Mint Depository safeguards your gold, silver and platinum holdings. However, you can arrange to collect your investment or have it shipped to you. Please download the Freight and collections guide, complete and return the relevant forms to get the process started.

What are the delivery/collection procedures?
1 Submit forms
Read the Freight and collection guide, complete and return the forms.
2 Delivery quote
We will obtain a specific quote for your delivery request based on value, weight and destination. This quote is valid for 30 days. Quotes are free, with no obligation. Once you have accepted the freight quote in writing, no changes can be made and all costs will be due. Public holidays, stock takes and seasonal closures may affect collection and delivery times.
3 Convert to allocated
If you hold unallocated or pool allocated metal you must get the precious metal converted to allocated cast bars. Note that some products may be temporarily unavailable.
4 Pay fees
All outstanding fabrication, storage and freight costs must be paid before delivery or collection. The Perth Mint Depository does not offer retail sales. Clients that collect metal within three months from the date of purchase will incur a three month storage charge
5 Dispatch metals
We will dispatch your metal as quickly as possible. Flight schedules and other freight issues may cause delays outside The Perth Mint’s control.
6 Be available for delivery
Deliveries can only be made to physical addresses (if under AUD 70,000) or secure carrier depots, not PO box numbers, for security reasons. The metal can only be shipped to you or collected by you, not a third party.

How do I collect unallocated bars?
If you hold unallocated metal, it will need to be fabricated into bars prior to delivery or collection. We offer a range of bars, subject to availability at the time of the request. Visit our fees page for more information.

Is my holding insured during shipping?
We offer insured and uninsured delivery options. A completed ‘Request for freight quote’ form is required to begin the process. For an uninsured quote, send the unsecure transport waiver. Forms can be found in the Freight and collections guide.

Can I arrange my own freight?
Yes. A completed ‘Client arranged freight’ form is required to begin the process. The form can be found in the Freight and collection guide.

Can I come in to The Perth Mint and pick up my holding?
Yes. Appointments are essential and can be arranged from 9.30am-1pm (AWST) Monday to Friday.

How much will freight cost?
Freight costs are determined by destination, value and weight. We obtain a quote specific to your delivery and whether you have selected the insured or uninsured option.
Quotes are free and without obligation.

How much will collection cost?
There is no cost for collection. Collection is only available after all outstanding fees are paid and unallocated metal has been converted to allocated.

Can my metal be delivered anywhere?
Metal will only be delivered to your listed account address, unless:
- A depot collection has been arranged due to the value of the shipment.
- The secure carrier requests a commercial address, in which case you must be present to sign and accept the delivery.
- You have an account with another depository in the same name as your Perth Mint account. Written evidence of this account must be provided.
Restricted countries
Ability to deliver to your location will be confirmed by the freight company. We are unable to deliver to the countries listed below.

How do I get Perth Mint Certificate Program metal delivered?
If you are in our certificate program, your certificates must be signed and returned before metal can be collected or dispatched. Please contact your approved distributor for more information.

Can I request a specific date and time for delivery?
We are unable to guarantee delivery on a specific date or time. Delays may occur due to bad weather, aircraft problems and other events out of our control. Delivery times will vary from three days to four weeks and in some instances may be longer.
